Fondazione Aversano supports artists, researchers and students by collecting, commissioning and connecting their work, and by keeping the record of it open for anyone to check.
The Foundation was founded by the photographer Justin Aversano and is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity. Its purpose is to support initiatives in art, science and education: to reach, discover and support talented people so they can create, inspire and lead, and to work with organizations that share that aim.
Art
Living artists, paid directly for their work, shown with their names and their words. The first program collects one artist from every US state.
Science
Tools and research that make cultural records durable: open data, verified provenance, archives that outlive the platforms they came from.
Education
Plain-language explanations of how digital art, ownership and public ledgers actually work, for newcomers and experts alike.
