Fondazione Aversano is collecting one living artist from every state in the union, paying artists directly and recording each acquisition on a public blockchain.

Why the record is public

Every work in this collection was acquired as a token on a public blockchain. A blockchain is a shared ledger that anyone can read and nobody can quietly edit. When the Foundation buys a work, the ledger records which wallet sent it, which wallet received it, and when. That record stays public for as long as the chain runs.

This matters for a collection built on trust. A collector can prove they hold what they say they hold. An artist can prove they made the work and were paid for it. A researcher, years from now, can trace a piece back to its first sale without asking anyone's permission.

The Foundation asks nothing of visitors. There is no wallet to connect, nothing to mint, no token to buy. This site is a record and a map, not a marketplace.

What a chain record proves

  • That a specific token exists on a specific chain, with its contract and id.
  • Which wallet held it, and every transfer from one wallet to another, with a timestamp.
  • That the Foundation's wallet received it, and what it paid if the sale happened on-chain.

What it does not prove by itself

  • Who is behind a wallet. Names are matched off-chain, by the artist's public accounts.
  • That the image is the artist's own work. Authorship is a human claim the chain only timestamps.
  • Copyright. Holding a token does not transfer the rights to the picture.
