About
The Foundation
Fondazione Aversano is a generational effort to empower artists and visionaries. To unite cultures through artistic dialogue and create compassionate ripples into the world. It bridges aesthetics with action, memory with imagination, and tradition with technology.
This foundation is about more than just art. It's about showing up, building relationships, returning to people and places, and creating something that endures beyond the moment. It's about honoring the human experience and respecting mother Earth. Hopefully playing a small role in easing human suffering, while making the world more connected, creative, and kind.
Art leads the way.
Fondazione Aversano is a family foundation founded by the photographer Justin Aversano and based in Holbrook, New York. It is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity.
50 States, 50 Artists is the Foundation's first collecting program. The idea is simple: find one living artist working in every state, acquire a work directly from them, and keep the record public. The collection is a map of where digital art is being made in America right now, not only where the market looks.
Each work is bought on a public blockchain, so the record of the acquisition, the artist's original sale and every later transfer stays open for anyone to check. The Foundation collects. It does not sell.
How artists are chosen: the Foundation looks for artists who live and work in each state, with a preference for people pushing at the edge of their medium. Nominations are welcome.
Our purpose
The specific purpose of the 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation is to support initiatives in art, science, and education by collaborating with individuals and organizations to foster relationships and funding opportunities to excel their research and development in the arts, sciences, and education sectors. Our mission is to reach, discover, and support talented candidates to create, inspire, and innovate a new generation of leaders. We also support underserved individuals and communities lacking access to clean water, nutritious food, and safe shelter such as orphanages, indigenous peoples, the homeless and those facing poverty. We aim that all our projects embody the spirit of art and empathy to foster creativity, care and artistic expression.
